LTA safeguarding in tennis

The LTA strive to ensure that all children, young people and adults at risk are safeguarded from abuse and have an enjoyable tennis experience.  Everyone who is involved in tennis has a shared responsibility to support this by promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk.  Buckden Tennis Club is guided by the LTA on safeguarding matters - more information about their policies and rules can be found here: ****

Welfare officer

The Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting safeguarding within their venue and working with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment is achieved.  Victoria Clipsham is our Welfare Officer.  Her contact details are displayed on the posters in the clubhouse, or you can request them from using the club's email address.  Victoria lives very close to the club and can be contacted very easily.  Her role at the club includes receiving and acting on any reported child (and adult) protection concerns, whether they come from members of the club or members of the public.  Her role is to ensure that the safeguarding policy is implemented and promoted and that the club follows best practice in safeguarding.

Victoria, as well as the coaching staff from Over and In, have valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, previously CRB) checks.

Safeguarding policy

Buckden Tennis Club is committed to supporting the right of adults at risk to be protected from abuse and to making sure all staff and volunteers work together and act promptly when dealing with allegations or suspicions of abuse.  Safeguarding policy.
